Twelve passengers handled for minor accidents after airliner’s engine catches hearth on touchdown.
Greater than 170 passengers and 6 crew had been evacuated after the engine of an American Airways jet – outbound from Colorado Springs – caught hearth on touchdown in Denver.
The incident unfolded on Thursday after the Boeing 737-800 plane diverted from its Dallas vacation spot and landed in Denver at about 5:15pm native time (23:15 GMT) in response to stories of engine vibrations by crew on board.
“After touchdown safely and taxiing to the gate at Denver Worldwide Airport (DEN), American Airways Flight 1006 skilled an engine-related problem,” the airline mentioned in an announcement.
In accordance with the airline, all 172 passengers and 6 crew members safely evacuated the plane and had been relocated to the terminal. Twelve passengers with minor accidents had been reportedly taken to a neighborhood hospital for additional analysis.
Dramatic photos confirmed passengers clambering out of emergency doorways and onto the wings of the aircraft.

That is the second current aviation incident involving an American Airways plane.
On January 29, a midair collision between an American Airways aircraft and a United States Military helicopter close to Washington, DC, killed 67 individuals.
