NEW YORK — Google proprietor Alphabet will purchase cybersecurity startup Wiz for $32 billion.
The all-cash deal is ready to spice up Alphabet’s profile within the cloud computing market, an area presently led by Amazon and Microsoft. As soon as the transaction is closed, the corporate says Wiz will be a part of Google Cloud.
“At present, companies and governments that run within the cloud are on the lookout for even stronger safety options, and larger selection in cloud computing suppliers,” Google CEO Sundar Pichai stated in an announcement Tuesday — including that Google Cloud and Wiz will “turbocharge improved cloud safety and the power to make use of a number of clouds” collectively.

Wiz, a four-year-old startup headquartered in New York, makes safety instruments designed to defend the data saved in distant knowledge facilities from intruders.
Google has had its eyes on Wiz for a while. The acquisition value introduced Tuesday surpasses a reported $23 billion buyout proposal that Wiz rejected final July.
