EXCLUSIVE: Invoice Nighy is in talks to star in Clifftops, a Hugo Blick sequence for the BBC set in a nostalgia-soaked Nineteen Seventies trailer park overlooking the English Channel.
Deadline hears that The English author has teamed with Drama Republic, the producer behind Netflix’s One Day, to create the six-part sequence, which sources stated has the wit of The Royle Household and the emotional clout of The Grapes of Wrath.
Clifftops facilities on a mom and daughter who escape an abusive husband to arrange a house away from civilization. On the clifftops, Lela is reunited along with her Bradford-born dad and mom in a group of outcasts, set to the soundtrack and TV tradition of its day.
